Applications for next years Fertility Foundation's IVF Grants open on 1st January 2026

What Are IVF Grants?

IVF Grants are financial awards provided by The Fertility Foundation to help individuals and couples across the UK access private fertility treatment. Grants are designed to ease the financial burden and make IVF and related treatments more accessible to those who could not otherwise afford them.

What Do the Grants Cover?

Each grant can contribute up to £3,000 towards fertility treatment. Depending on your needs, this can include:

  • In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) / ICSI
  • Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)
  • Frozen Embryo Transfers (FET)
  • Egg Donation – IVF treatment
  • Surrogacy – IVF treatment

Please note, the grant funding does not cover medication costs or reversing/correcting other medical treatment you may have had. Nor does it cover surrogacy costs.

How the Grant Works

If awarded, funds are paid directly to a licensed fertility clinic of your choice either in the UK or abroad. Treatment must usually begin within four months of receiving the grant, ensuring timely support during your fertility journey. Applicants are welcome to apply up to twice, and every application is carefully reviewed by our trustees and medical advisors.

Who Can Apply?

Our grants are open to  British citizens with no criminal record and live full time in the UK aged 18–42 who meet the eligibility criteria. We focus on helping those who are unable to afford private treatment and who have no or limited access to NHS funding. Each application is considered with compassion and fairness, taking into account personal and financial circumstances.

Why We Offer IVF Grants

Infertility is more than a medical condition—it can affect every part of life, leaving people feeling isolated, anxious and without options. We believe that the chance to become a parent should not be determined by income or postcode. That is why we created the IVF Grant Programme: to give hope, dignity and opportunity to those who are ready to take the next step but cannot do so alone.

Our Promise

Every application is treated with sensitivity and respect. We know this may feel like your last hope, and we want you to know that you are not alone. Whether or not you receive a grant, you are part of a community that understands your journey, and we are here to offer compassion and support at every stage.
